Russian Language Teaching Hackathon at Tarbiat Modares University

A hackathon is a collaborative event where programmers, developers, designers, and experts from various fields (such as data analysis, artificial intelligence, and IT) come together to work on an innovative project within a short timeframe. The main goal of hackathons is to develop creative solutions for specific challenges or build prototypes of new ideas.

For the first time, through the initiative of the Russkiy Mir Foundation Cabinet and the student association of Tarbiat Modares University, this event was used to develop solutions for teaching the Russian language to Iranian students. The hackathon was attended by five teams from Tarbiat Modares University, University of Tehran, Shahid Beheshti University, Alzahra University, and University of Bojnord. Each team consisted of one professor and four students, who had five hours to design and present an idea for a game-based method to teach the grammatical case of plural possessive forms in Russian to Iranian students. Notably, experts from the Russian scientific-publishing institute "Zlatoust" were also present during the implementation and execution phase of the ideas.

After the allotted time, the teams presented their completed projects. The presentation ceremony was attended by representatives from the Russki mir foundation, who highly praised the creativity and ingenuity of the Iranian students and professors in their project presentations.

The judging panel included directors and officials from the Zlatoust Scientific-Publishing Center, alongside Russian language professors and representatives from the Russki mir foundation.

The competition results, after deliberation by the jury, were as follows:  Best Game Winner: Alzahra University

Most Creative Team Name Winner: University of Bojnord

Most Organized Team Winner: Shahid Beheshti University

Most Incomparable Team Winner: University of Tehran
