First place for the TMU Nano PhD Student s project at EUvsVIRUS international Hackathon
Marzieh Moosazadeh, a doctoral student in nanobiotechnology at Tarbiat Modares University, in collaboration with researchers from France, Germany, the United States and Turkey, has come up with a plan to identify the virus in the exhalation of people with Qovid-19. The project was ranked first on the EUVsVIRUS International Hackathon.

The international Hackathon "EUvsVIRUS" was held on April 24-26, 2020 by the European Innovation Council to combat corona, which was attended by nearly 20,900 people from 141 countries. These people worked as a team on related projects, of which 2150 projects were finally registered in 6 different areas and 37 subgroups. Among the registered projects, 117 projects were selected, of which 6 main projects were selected and 3 were selected in each subgroup. Marzieh Moosazadeh, a PhD student in nanobiotechnology at Tarbiat Modares University, as part of a team from France, Germany, the United States and Turkey, registered the Instant SARS-CoV-2 breathalyzer project, which won first place in the Health & Life group and the cheap rapid test section. The plan was to build an optofluidic device using antibodies against the virus's spike protein and fluorescent particles that can detect the virus in the exhalation of people with Covid-19. This project was presented with the guidance of Dr. Khosrow Khajeh (the dean of the Biological Sciences faculty).
