The deputy of academic affairs of the ministry released the final ranking for Iranian universities and institutes of higher education. According to the results which are based on the survey conducted for more than ۱۲۰ state universities / higher education institutions, TMU is among the first grade comprehensive universities of Iran having high international standards and with a mission to expand science and technology and remove national challenges at domestic level.
Other universities of Iran which occupy the same ranking position include: University of Tehran, Shaheed Beheshti, Isfahan, Tabriz, and Ferdowsi.
It needs to be noted that the ranking process began in ۲۰۱۵. A website was designed in which universities and institutions could upload their latest data. The ranking was done on the basis of the requirements set up by the 6th Development Plan of Iran. The state universities are classified into comprehensive or specialized universities, each of which is further ranked by considering their performance at international, national, regional or local level.
