The TMU rank are 51-75 in the field of mining, 151-200 in technical and engineering sciences (including civil engineering, chemical engineering, water resources and metallurgy), 201-300 in mechanical engineering, telecommunication engineering, food science and technology, biological sciences, veterinary sciences, medical sciences, and nursing, 301-400 in the science and engineering of energy, biotechnology and agricultural sciences and 401-500 in the Earth Sciences and Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

ARWU uses six objective indicators to rank world universities, including the number of alumni and staff winning Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals, number of highly cited researchers selected by Clarivate Analytics, number of articles published in journals of Nature and Science, number of articles indexed in Science Citation Index - Expanded and Social Sciences Citation Index, and per capita performance of a university. More than 1200 universities are actually ranked by ARWU every year and the best 500 are published.
