TMU s rank upgrading in Leiden ranking system

Evaluations of the Leiden ranking system represent that the ranking of Iranian universities, including Tarbiat Modares University, has significantly improved in this ranking.

According to the published ranking, Tarbiat Modares University in ۲۰۲۰ is ranked fourth in the criteria of scientific authority, scientific diplomacy and scientific access, and fifth in the criteria of gender diversity among the country « s universities.
The university has a better performance in terms of world» s rankings than last year and in ۲۰۲۰ is ranked 346th in the field of scientific authority, 433rd in the field of scientific diplomacy and scientific access and 418th in terms of gender diversity.
The CWTS Leiden Ranking ۲۰۲۰ offers important insights into the scientific performance of over ۱۰۰۰ major universities worldwide. The Leiden Ranking stands for a multidimensional perspective on university performance. The Leiden Ranking is based on publications in the Web of Science database produced by Clarivate Analytics.
Indicators included in the Leiden Ranking have two variants: A size-dependent and a size-independent variant.
The Leiden Ranking provides the following indicators of scientific impact:
P. Total number of publications of a university.
P (top ۱٪) and PP (top ۱٪). The number and the proportion of a university?s publications that, compared with other publications in the same field and in the same year, belong to the top ۱٪ most frequently cited.
P (top ۵٪) and PP (top ۵٪). The number and the proportion of a university?s publications that, compared with other publications in the same field and in the same year, belong to the top ۵٪ most frequently cited.
P (top ۱۰٪) and PP (top ۱۰٪). The number and the proportion of a university?s publications that, compared with other publications in the same field and in the same year, belong to the top ۱۰٪ most frequently cited.
P (top ۵۰٪) and PP (top ۵۰٪). The number and the proportion of a university?s publications that, compared with other publications in the same field and in the same year, belong to the top ۵۰٪ most frequently cited.
TCS and MCS. The total and the average number of citations of the publications of a university.
TNCS and MNCS. The total and the average number of citations of the publications of a university, normalized for field and publication year. An MNCS value of two for instance means that the publications of a university have been cited twice above the average of their field and publication year.
