Thesis in 5 Minutes event held at the Russkiy Mir Office at Tarbiat Modares University

The Russkiy Mir Foundation office at Tarbiat Modares University hosted an academic event titled "Thesis in 5 Minutes," where graduate and doctoral students presented concise summaries of their research projects. This initiative, inspired by the "elevator pitch" concept, challenged participants to effectively communicate their thesis ideas and key findings within a strict five-minute timeframe.

The event provided a platform for emerging scholars to share their work while fostering academic exchange and inspiration for future research endeavors.

Currently, two universities in Iran – Tarbiat Modares University and the University of Tehran – offer master's and PhD programs in "Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language," "Translator Training," and "Russian Literature." Under these programs, more than 10 master's and doctoral theses are defended each year, primarily focusing on: comparative studies of Russian and Persian languages, Features of translating texts between Russian and Persian, Methods of teaching Russian to Persian-speaking audiences.

The "Thesis in 5 Minutes" event was designed based on the "elevator pitch" concept, where participants must briefly explain the essence of a product, project, or service. The term refers to time constraints – the presentation should be concise enough to be delivered during a short elevator ride. Accordingly, researchers had only five minutes to present their thesis ideas and the scientific results of their work.

This event not only helped Iranian students and professors familiarize themselves with ongoing research and its outcomes, but also inspired young researchers with new ideas for future academic projects.

At the end of the event, the best presentations were awarded prizes by the "Russkiy Mir" Foundation and the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in Iran.
